C is the best answer, here is why:
ReplyDeleteMaximizing the deck load and or distributing lumber in the upper holds will increase KG and decrease GM which could make the vessel more "tender".
Frame spacing free of lumber just does not make sense. the lumber should be tight to the frames below deck if done consistently it should not make a difference.
Placing the heaviest cargo in the lower holds will decrease KG and increase GM thus making the vessel less "tender".

ReplyDelete-A tender ship is one with a very small GM caused by KG being too large
-A stiff ship is one with a very large GM caused by KG being too small
And:
- A very large GM should be avoided because the ship will return to the upright quickly and the structural damage might be great.
