Change of trim = 2ft = 24 inches

24 = w x 250 / 500
w = 48 tons
C. is the answer
Wouldn't the change of trim be 12 inches, since we are trying to very an even keel fore and aft?
DeleteActually not, because the initial trim is 2ft and we aim to let her even keel, that is 0ft trim, and so you just have to take the difference between these two to get the Change of Trim needed.
DeleteWhen dealing with trim I would say that it's better to think as whole, because trim is the result of the difference between the 2 drafts and you don't have to think necessarily about each draft separately.
